Bestival & Camp Bestival Triumph... With Thanks To You!

Huzzah and hooray and as many other exultations of unbridled joy that you can think of! The Bestival crew is enormously proud and ecstatically pleased to have won the Best Medium Sized Festival for Bestival and the Family Festival Award for Camp Bestival at the UK Festival Awards last night (November 19th). The awards are voted for by the general public (the people that actually matter) so it means an awful lot to us to win them and it’s with huge and heartfelt thanks to you for voting for us.

A beaming Rob da Bank said: “We're still feeling a bit fragile to say the least after scooping the double at the Festival Awards last night - Best Family for Camp Bestival and Best Medium for the forth year out of five for Bestival... WOW! Massive thanks to all our festi-faithful and here’s to a killer 2010!”

2009 has been an absolute smasher for us. Kicking off in July with Camp Bestival’s frolicsome family fun that saw treats as diverse as Spongebob Squarepants, Frankie Boyle, PJ Harvey and Chic setting the grounds of Lulworth Castle afire all capped off with 5,000 tots going utterly mental – believe us, you’ve never seen anything like it! -  for Mr Tumble and ending in September with Bestival and the gloriously astounding likes of The Big Pink, Lily Allen, La Roux, Doves, Elbow, Florence and the Machine and what can only be described as a legendary set from Kraftwerk that will live long in the memory. We had a blast and we hope you did too, so once again, thank you for making the events so great and thank you for voting!

With Camp Bestival lined up for July 30th - August 1st and Bestival rolling from the 9th - 12th September we’re already super-excited about 2010, so come and join in the fun!
